Individuals with Autism may be:
OVER SENSITIVE (Hypersensitive)
Noise heightened or distorted.
Distorted vision, images fragmented or appearing to move.
Certain smells overpowering, often causing a feeling of nausea.
Uncomfortable and often painful sensation.
Sensitive taste buds. Flavours overpowering and certain textures causing discomfort.
UNDER SENSITIVE (Hyposensitive)
Non responsive to certain sounds.
Environment or objects may lose some features.
Unaware of extreme or distinctive smells.
High pain threshold, often holding others too tightly.
Craving for strong flavours or certain textures in foods.
